Veggies While We Were On Vacation

Even though we weren't here the veggies were not going t wait for us to ripen.  So Wammyville parents and grandparents came to pick so things wouldn't rot on the vine and we are so thankful.

Cucumbers on the Tower Garden

White eggplant for Bridgit and Emmy.

green pattypan squash

a different day of picking

Look at all those colors!

another eggplant

English cucumbers are going crazy and so is the basil.

We have a rogue pumpkin that is developing on the goat pen fence.  How did it get clear across the yard?

Another Tower Garden cuke.

Tomatoes ripening on the vine.

We have a little bit of blight but it hasn't seemed to hurt the growing process.  Knock on wood.

Thanks to everyone for helping out.  Bridgit the flowers never looked better!  Murph thanks for the pics and being there to look after things.  And to everyone for picking and playing with the dogs.  I looked forward to your pics, stories, and FaceTime calls.

I Spy With My Little Eye

A volunteer pumpkin (I think) coming up in the Goat Pen...clear across the yard.

Jalapeno starting to ripen.

An actual pumpkin in the Pumpkin Patch.

Cucumber on the Tower Garden.

Zinnias had a visitor with a hurt wing. An Eastern tiger swallowtail

My one prize sunflower coming up behind the cucumbers.

Already Deciding

I have been looking at all kinds of info and have decided that we are definitely doing black cherry tomatoes and now adding to the list are these two beauties.

Lemon cucumbers

candy cane peppers

Side By Sides Three Months Apart

A post came up on Facebook this evening and I was amazed at the difference just a few months have made.

Tomato Hornworm

I found a tomato hornworm on Murph's shirt today.  It took me forever to get it off his shirt.  And I'm not sure which bed that he decided to take a piggyback ride.

I borrowed a bug house from Emmy and we are going to try to see f we can keep it alive and hopefully get to see it morph into a hummingbird moth.

The last picture shows all the stages.  Also, I learned that if you shine a blacklight on your tomato plants at night the hornworms will glow in the dark.  I downloaded an app and went out to see if I could find any more...no luck.  But I will keep looking.

Carly Rae is going to help take care of him in the coming week since she is the Science Coordinator of the Preschool.  And she has already named him Green Bean.  I think that's pretty perfect.

Boogie Report

I got a report on Boogie this week.  Look how sleek and slim he is.
Must be all that good food and walks down the lane with Felissity.

Look at that silly boy being for some licorice or some graham crackers.

He is still al over. Likes everyone that he comes into contact with.  Funny thing...Felissity is trying to talk her parent into getting another goat!  Good luck! Boogie is going to miss Felissity when school starts in the fall.

The City Park Is Finished

I love how it turned out.  Now to patiently wait for everything the grow and fill in the blank spaces.

I think I will look for a really cute bee-themed pillow for the bench.

I hope that the Dutchman's Pipe vine is a fast grower.

I transplanted these from the ditch n the front yard.

I love the glow in thenight.

Mason Bees

I have learned a few things about Mason Bees that I love.  The first one being, they don't sting!  The second is that they are great pollinators.  So just about every garden that we have has a Mason Bee house.

Mark and I found this at the antique store I think in Sharonville.

The Bruce's made this for me at the end of the year.

I found this on in Amish country.

I made this one with the help of an online class with the Cincinnati Nature Center.

Bridgit found this kit at a yard sale and I put it together.

I have see one on the house in the Goat Garden.
