An Invasion

The Big Girls and The Little Girls huddled in the shade discussing the new animals on the farm.  So far so good.  Everyone is getting along,  Keep your fingers crossed.

The Big And Little Girls Enjoying The Sunshine

EffieGrace is loving the sun...even with what little feathers, she has.  She's a spunky one that girl.

Dory is going to get herself in trouble scratching up all my Naked Ladies.

Inez and Estelle in Mark's flower bathtub dusting away.

And look who is broody again.  She was sitting on 5 eggs.

I was resting in the hammock when Mark yelled for me to look...Dixie up on the fence.  Yikes!

Inez sunbathing.

That's my poor EffieGrace.

Checking Out The New Digs

We have decided that we would put The Big Girls and The Little Girls into the green coop together.   To do that Pappy had to make another perch for sleeping.  I left the doors open so everyone could check it out before haveing to sleep there that evening.

I was worried but they did jusst fine.  Up and ready to go out looking for worms and bugs bright and early.

Little Afternoon Snack

The girls were having the best time with the watermelon.  Chatting, eating, and sharing as a good bunch of girls should do.  Quiet and peaceful surrounding.  Then all of a sudden they all cut loose...
Guess who I found with her head buried inside the watermelon!  Watermelon all over her mouth.

So before I went to bed last night I turned the water melon over because there was still plenty in the bottom.  And this is how I found it this morning.  Something came in last night and continued the eating it.  this made me make a quick head check of the girls.  All accounted for!

Chicken 'Dump" From My Phone

Thought I would add these pics from my phone to the blog so we can see how far we have come and how far we need to go.
Huge treat block that I thought was such a great idea.  Maybe if I had chunked into chunks it would have been better.  Lesson learned.  The girls liked it but it was too much at once.  And note to self...store it in a container each night.

Esthelle looks so thin.

Dusting anywhere they want even though Mark and I build the nicest dusting pit for them.

The chicken chairs are the best!

RayJeana making a statement.

Dixie and Ethel love to pick at mu shoes.

Ethel is the queen of the broody hens.

Wonder why EffieGrace has her feathers all ruffled up?

Judy does have her mean look on.

Dory likes Mark.

Sunny trying to tell me something.  Probably..."get that camera out of my face."

Love her lacy feathers.

Little Ms Sunshine

asleep in my lap

Susie thinking she could be, wants to be, please let me be, broody.

She's at it again.

Susie and EffieGrace guarding Ethel while she takes a nap.

Ethel is really mad now...just look at those neck feathers.

Go ahead and guess...broody again.  I think she may have a problem.

She growls at me now when I move her from the nest.

When I have a broody hen I let the girls out to rage in the yard and I have to close the door to the run because they tend to sneak back in and get on the nest.  Susie was trying every way in the world to get it.  It was her egg laying time.  I finally let her in and when she finished her egg song I let her out.

All because of this one.

The Sick House

Cooper loves to let the girls out and feed them once he gets off the bus each evening.  Tonight he actually fed Sunny...and just look at the joy on his face!

We still need to figure out this nipple watering thing.  Not to sure about it and neither are the girls.

I got this from my niece when we adopted her bunny.  It makes a perfect 'Sick House' for when we have a girl that needs to be in quarantine.  Right now Ethel has taken up residence because she is wayyyyy broody.  I'm pretty sure she hates it!  I'm thinking that my chocolate egg giver might start holding out on me.

A Blustry Day

I got to spend some quality time with the big girls today while Mark and I were trying to secure a tarp over the run.  The wind was whipping it like crazy!

Afternoon In The Sun

Can you find the chicken that is a human chicken?

Sassy one standing in the dish.

Standing on one foot.

She is one fat chicken.  Some of this is just fluffy feathers.
