Here's A Shocker!
I went out to check on the chickens to see how much food they had. Just because I opened up the door to the nesting boxes. Haven't done that in months because I thought they had gone past their prime. They haven't laid since the molt of November...
I found 5 eggs..none frozen. Either someone is messing with me (which wouldn't surprise me in the least with all the jokesters around here) or they are actually laying!
Then today, Valentines Day...I found these...
The wonder of wonders! So I guess we are slowly back in the egg business!!

They Love Them
If you are getting rid of your live tree, The Boys would love to take them off of your hands. They are a special treat for them. You can just drop trees off at the end of our driveway and I'll take them back to them. They thank you in advance and say Happy New Year!
They didn't even want any of the sweet feed that I just put in their buckets.
And the girls got a little treat too.

Took A Little Walk Out Back
This is one crazy chicken...roosting on the top of the grill, on top of the grill covered with a tarp, then on the wagon seat. Crazy!
It has been a little wet and muddy.
They love it when I throw some alfalfa over the fence.
But the sweet feed is what they like the best.
And sometimes they even share.
And these are the last of the chickens...Bertha
Inez
Leona
Mable
Martha
I love my little farm!

Trick-Or-Treat For The Girls
Wae tried popping a small ear of corn that the ladies at the Farmer's Market said would be fun.
The girls weren't to sure about it at first.
I had to show them that is was a good thing.
Then it was a free for all.

Finally Put Them To Good Use
They finally have earned their keep. We have spent the last four days cleaning up the backyard. Boy, do they love the weeds.
They just followed us around the yard and ate their way through several pounds of weeds.
They even ate in the light drizzle.
But then they got into a little bit of trouble because they ate some hydrangeas that I wanted to dry.
