She Just Loves Me

All evening she tried to talk me into letting her in the house.  She pecked on the door for at least an hour.  No way sister!  No, no matter how sad you look, you are not coming in.
NO CHICKENS ALLOWED IN THE HOUSE!!

So what does she decided to do...roost between the yahoos chicken shoes and the grill, right beside the dryer vent.  Now that is either one dumb chicken or she is claiming her spot for the winter when it gets cold.

This Is For Davi

I understand that Davi is not impressed with my beautiful chickens and that the goats don't excite him at all.  But he is in love with rabbits.

So here is our bunny named Binker.

They Will Eat Anything

At least tonight they are eating the wild morning glories that are taking over the viburnum bushes along Mr. Bill's side of the fence.

Boogie is a little pig.

He really doesn't want to share at all.  He even gets a little pushy.

And here all this time I was blaming the chickens for eating the black-eyed Susan's.  Sorry girls.

This Hasn't Happened For A Long Tiem

Five chickens and five eggs all in the same day!

I Lost Something The Other Day...

No, it wasn't any of The Boys!

I know exactly where to find them.

I lost their licorice!  I even text Ms. Yvonne in WI to see if she had seen them.  I jsut happened to look up and saw them on top of the TV.  Who knows.  I probably put them there.

Anyone Looking For A Great Chicken Run and Coop

We are down to only 5 chickens.  We just don't need two coops anymore.  Mark says that his chicken farming days are over.  So we are selling the big green coop.

I had it posted on several sites.  Even had three people interested.  The first lady jsut couldn't get the help she needed to pick it up.  The second and third people answered the ad while we were on vacation.  So while we were without reliable service on vacation, they got their coops elsewhere.  So if you know anyone looking for a really nice coop, send them my way.  I saved Wammyville money to buy it and now a few years later only selling it $300.

It also comes with hardwire clothe and pegs that go all around the exterior under the ground to keep predators from digging under.   Two roosts.  A PVC pipe tube feeder, and a blinking red light to keep animals away at night.

Double doors for easy access to roost.

double moveable roost

Three large nesting boxes...also easy to get to.

The run unscrews from the coop and can lay flat.

I made a rough drawing of the dimensions.

You will need to tear down and transport.  I think it will easily fit in the back of a pick-up truck.

Sad To Say

It is sad because this summer we lost four chickens.  I am okay with that.  It all is just part of having animals and nature.  All the 'farmers' that were caring for the animals while we were gone feel really bad about it happening on their watches.  Mark is pretty excited about it.  We have 5 girls left.  I had a little photo shoot with them today.

It is no wonder we have so few flowers in the backyard.

I gave them a little bit of scratch to keep them close to the camera so I wouldn't
have to chase them all over the yard like a crazy woman.

Scratching in the goat pen.

She loves the camera or is it me?

Just finishing up a little bit of molting.

Always camera shy.

We aren't sure what happened to the others.  I think two just died of natural causes.  One was egg bound I think.  And something got to the last one.  So now each night I say goodnight to them and lock them in the coop.  And every morning they call for me to let them out so they can find bugs and all kinds of other good stuff to eat.

Strange Eggs

She is getting to be a real chicken-whisperer.

Now here is a strange thing.  An egg with no shell.

Crazy I know!
