Wow! Just Wow!

You have to watch that little farmer in the red shirt.  He loves to pick and eat strawberries.

We Don't Mess Around

Day two with Adi and Jase started out with a big breakfast because we had lots to do in the garden and with two fresh farm hands I wanted them to be ready!

By the look on her face, this is the best thing ever.

And then her pancakes came!

Jase could not even look up from his mug.

I think he might be excited too.

I made some special watering jugs for all the yahoos.  They worked out great.

We needed a little bit of compost for some flowers so Adi and Jase jumped right in.

Let the cleaning begin.

We cut an entire milk crate full of tops.

Putting them out to dry, counting, and sorting them. 

We even got to have dinner with the Rockholds.

Another great day down on the farm.

A Day Of Firsts

I got to have every one of these beauties for breakfast this morning, DELICIOUS!!!

He checks on them even in the rain.

If we could have a few hot days I think the cucumbers would pop.  Today Murph and I split this beauty.  A sweet little beauty.

We split the first two tomatoes.  The Mr. Snow was almost a sweet taste.  The Akers WV was really good too.

July 4th Was A Work Day

 

The garden doesn't wait.  When things need to be done you do them.  We had a massive pile of free mulch and we needed to get it out of the driveway so that is what we did on the 4th of July.

We are planning to put something in this bed a little later in the month.  The garlic is all harvested and drying.  There are a few rows of onions that we are waiting for.

The Potting Bench Bed AKA The Big Raised Beds because sometimes I can't remember its fancy name has about 4 inches of mulch throughout.

The back walkway has no weeds! Yet.

We had just enough to fill in around the oak tree.

The hosta are going to love it.  We just hope the Naked Ladies will be able to make their way through it all when the time comes.

I am so glad that we finished this up.  Now I can focus on the last LARGE flower bed that will take me the rest of the summer to take care of.  But that is okay.  I'll garden in the shade for as long as it takes.

Finished The Berry Patch

 After doing more research on how to grow Blueberries Mark decided that we needed to up our game.  So out came the two bushes.

Carly Rae came for a visit with Murph.  She got to pick a ripe strawberry.

And by the look in her eyes, it was amazing.

The first Sunsugar!  It split.  I had better keep a better eye out.

Mark and I have been working all day on the Berry Patch...mainly the two huge grow bags for the blueberries.

I have been putting it off for a few months.  I first had to take everything out along the fence.  Emmy helped me pull out the rocks. And then we just quit.

So now everything is in its place.  Now comes mulching the path between the bed and the raised bed.

When I was moving rocks for the edging I found another little friend.  Wish I could know if we have ever met before.

He was on the opposite side of the house so who knows.

All mulched on both sides of the rocks.  I love it.  And it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be.  So glad it is finished.  Tonight it is storming so everything will be watered in really well.  Thanks God for watering tonight so Mark doesn't have to get up early to water.
